EQUIPMENT
Welcome to the equipment section of
my web site
In this section, you will see some of the
equipment that is required to shoot with a disability. Not all of the
equipment suits all disabilities or shooters. For example, a disabled
shooter classified as SH1 will be someone with good upper body, arm and
hand function. This person would use a glove and a sling. Whereas a person
classified as SH2 who would have limitations in arm and finger strength
/ movement would shoot with a spring and would not require the glove or
sling.

Shooting Glove: This is worn on the
opposite hand to the trigger finger. The rifle either rests on a
closed fist or grips the stock of the rifle.
The shooting jacket is very stiff
and provides support while shooting.
The sling attaches to the shoulder
of the jacket and wraps around the forearm then up to the rifle.
It holds the rifle down hard on the glove.
For SH2 shooters the rifle sits in
the yoke of the spring, which supports the front of the rifle.
The spring is set into the table
frame, which is fixed to the wheelchair. This is an SH2 shooter in
the standing position. Note elbows are not touching any part
of the chair or frame.
For an SH2 shooter in the prone
position the spring is in a different position and his elbows are
resting on the table for support.
